The YMCA of Collier County has been serving Collier County since 1967, and the Marco Y was founded on November 14, 1977. The South Campus has been committed to helping children, families, and communities reach their full potential for 40 years. The organization’s mission is to put Judeo Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA of Collier County is a nonprofit organization focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, and it connects children, teens, adults, and seniors to their potential, purpose, and each other. More than 50 years ago, it was founded by individuals who wanted to improve the community, and volunteers and supporters remain central to the organization. The YMCA of Collier County received a surprise grant as part of the Collier Community Foundation awarding $650,000 to nonprofits. Cindy Love-Abounader serves as President and CEO of the Marco Island YMCA.
