305 Sports Basketball Academy offers basketball practice, clinics, summer camps, training, and league play. The program also includes special events such as an All-Star game on the Miami Heat court, a Parents vs. Coaches game, Players play Park vs. Park matchups, a 305 Sports Night event at the Miami Heat Arena, and the 305 Sports Annual Toy Drive.

In the past 10+ years, 305 Sports Basketball Academy has coached and mentored well over 20,000 kids of all levels. The academy is run by qualified coaches who are all paid and not volunteer dads, and its leadership team includes Coach Laz and Coach Morris. The stated mission is to use sports to help kids build life skills they will not learn in school, build character, and prepare them for the real world outside the basketball court. On 11/3/2016, Coach Laz received a recognition award from Commissioner Jose Pepe Diaz for his work in the community over the prior three years, and a new location of 305 Sports in Venezuela was created in 2020 to provide uniforms, basketball equipment, and training to hundreds of extremely low income kids. The program organizes the 305 Sports Annual Toy Drive, where toys are collected as a team and donated to different organizations, and it offers a first free practice where families can bring a child in for a tryout practice.
One parent reported being part of the academy for over 8 years and described coaches who care about the game and each player’s progress, as well as discipline and respect among players. Another parent shared that their child switched from soccer to basketball and that the coaching staff, organization, environment, and summer camp worked well for their family. A third parent stated that 305 Sports teaches both the technical aspect of basketball and life lessons, and that their child’s grades and classroom focus improved.
