IMAGO POR LAS ARTES Youth Arts Programs includes activities such as the Miami Children's Storytelling Festival, a Children’s Illustration Contest, Literary Evenings - Noches de Poesía, Play Together, the ENTRELIBROS Festival, Taller Teatro Montaje, the IxLA 12x12 Collage International Juried Show, Acoustic Vibes, the ENTRELIBROS Book Club, and Community Outreach. The programs feature events and activities connected to art, theater, music, and literature, with emphasis on the values and traditions of Hispanic culture.
IMAGO POR LAS ARTES Youth Arts Programs is part of IMAGO POR LAS ARTES, a non-profit, inclusive, and multicultural organization dedicated to facilitating access to culture for people of all ages through artistic, educational, and recreational events and programs in art, theater, music, and literature, with emphasis on Hispanic culture. The leadership team includes María Alejandra Prado (President), Trina Oropeza (CEO), and directors Angélica Solórzano, Cecilia M. Sosa, Katherine Chacón, Rozabelle Cotte-Cruz, and Ximena Iribarren. The programs have engaged over 240 children in a Children’s Illustration Contest and empowered 24 children to develop storytelling skills through the Miami Children’s Storytelling Festival. They have presented 4 Play Together recitals with over 150 attendees and showcased Noches de Poesía with more than 20 Latin-American poets and over 200 attendees. IMAGO POR LAS ARTES has established ENTRELIBROS, which promotes Spanish literature for children with books from 12 publishers and more than 100 authors and illustrators. The organization has awarded 10 scholarships to children and donated art supplies benefiting more than 200 children from “Proyecto Bomboná” in Venezuela, with support from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor, and the Board of County Commissioners.
