The Roxy Theatre Group offers performing arts training that includes acting, singing, dance, drama, and voice classes, as well as on-stage productions, recitals, and showcases. The program also offers an after-school care program, a summer arts camp, and workshops in drama and musical theatre, along with training in technical theatre aspects for showcases, main-stage musicals, and year-end recitals. The program includes the Books Come to Life Series, a set of literature-based showcases that promote reading to children.

The Roxy Theatre Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization geared toward children ages 3 to 17 years old, yet catering to all ages, with programs focused on dance, drama, and voice provided in a teacher–student classroom format that culminates in on-stage productions. The organization has provided performing arts training to students in South Florida since 2002.
The leadership team includes Programs Director Ana Andreu; Theatre Arts & Artistic Director Charles A. Sothers; Dance Director Jillian Torgas-Leyva; President and Marketing Director Noramari Oñate; Vice-President and Technical Director, Sound Designer/Engineer Ulises Otero; and Executive Director Jorgina “Roxy” Fernandez. Ms. Andreu and Mr. Sothers have been with The Roxy Theatre Group since its inception in 2002, and Mrs. Torgas-Leyva has been with the organization since 2002. Ms. Fernandez and Mr. Otero co-founded The Roxy Theatre Group in 2002 and have co-owned Roxy Productions Enterprises since 1978.
Ms. Andreu has a BA in Theatre Management from Florida International University. Mr. Sothers has a BA in Theatre Arts from Florida International University, has trained and performed at the Player's Workshop of the Second City and around Chicago, co-founded the improvisational sketch comedy troupe Impromedy and the local theatre group The 4th Wall, has performed at venues including FIU's Wertheim Performing Arts Center, Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, and the former Jackie Gleason Theater, and has been voice-over talent for KFC International and various film and TV projects; his recent work includes Gablestage’s high school tours of Taming of the Shrew (2017) and The Tempest (2018), Juggerknot Theatre Company’s Miami Motel Stories (2017), and The Amparo Experience (2018). Mrs. Torgas-Leyva has trained with Jazz Master Joe Lanteri, tap icons Gregory Hines and Henry Latang in New York, the Tap Dogs, and choreographer David Scala in Las Vegas, and she holds a BFA in Dance with an emphasis in Choreography and Performance from Florida International University and a Master’s Degree in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Ms. Oñate has 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising, and communications with Fortune 500 companies such as McDonald’s, KFC, and Exxon Mobil in the Latin American and Caribbean Division, serves as Gallery Director for Oñate Fine Art, and holds a BBA in Business Administration/Marketing from Florida International University, a BS in Advertising, and an MA in Journalism & Communications from the University of Florida. Mr. Otero has over 25 years of experience as a Technical Director, Sound Designer, and Engineer, has provided sound engineering and design for artists including Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine and KC & the Sunshine Band, has designed and engineered sound for Telemundo’s Nuevas Voces de America, the Latin Billboard Awards, and the Latin Grammy Awards, collaborated on Emilio Estefan’s recording of Somos El Mundo, most recently sound engineered Idina Menzel’s concert, has participated in workshops in DAS Audio aero line equipment, Yamaha PMSD and Digital Audio, and administers seminars in Basic Line Array Applications.
The Roxy Theatre Group’s community involvement includes providing performing arts training to students in South Florida and multi-cultural marketing efforts supported by Ms. Oñate’s oral and writing skills in both English and Spanish.
