Li’l Abner Foundation

Li’l Abner Foundation offers tutoring, dance classes, Taekwondo, and archery. Tutoring runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and the dance program includes Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acro on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday with age-based class times. Taekwondo classes teach the Kukkiwon Taekwondo style, and the archery program is an official USA Archery JOAD Club.

• Tutoring — Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM-6:00 PM · After-school tutoring program for underserved children; offered in Sweetwater and Palmetto Bay.
• Dance Classes — Ages 4-7; Ages 8+ (Sweetwater). Ages 4-8; Ages 9+ (Palmetto Bay). · Sweetwater: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 4:00 PM-5:00 PM for ages 4-7; 6:00 PM-7:00 PM for ages 8+. Palmetto Bay: Tuesday & Thursday, 4:30 PM-5:30 PM for ages 4-8; 5:30 PM-6:30 PM for ages 9+. · Renewed dance program with Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acro.
• Taekwondo — Children aged 6 and above. · Taekwondo program for children and teens.
• Archery Club — Youth ages 10 to 20; adult archers are also welcomed. · Official USA Archery JOAD Club serving Miami-Dade County since 2015.

About the provider

Raul F. Rodriguez is the President. The foundation says it is dedicated to facilitating access to educational, recreational, and health services for City of Sweetwater residents of all ages, with a goal of improving the lives of residents in the community. It also states that tutoring is directed by a State of Florida Department of Education certified teacher and that the foundation has made progress in the past 16 years.

Tutoring begins each school year in the first week of September and ends the last week of May. Parents are encouraged to be aware of their children’s pick-up time. Tutoring duration may vary depending on tasks and assignments. Dance registration is limited; visit for info and registration. Office is open Monday to Friday after 4 pm.
