Miami Capoeira Sol e Lua offers Capoeira classes that combine elements of dance, acrobatics, music, and maculele, along with Brazilian music and percussion classes. The program also includes Samba, Portuguese language, art, yoga, and sports summer camp activities, plus a fine arts and crafts program with ceramics, painting, and drawing. Families can also arrange performances at events, kids’ birthday parties, private classes, studio rental, and beach practices.

Miami Capoeira Sol e Lua is a Brazilian Martial Arts Capoeira school and Cultural Arts Center that offers both adult and children’s Capoeira classes, with options for in-person and online instruction. Its sports summer camp program engages children ages 5 to 14 in the cultural heritage of Capoeira, including fundamentals of movements, acrobatics, kicks, dodges, and traditional songs and rhythms. The fine arts and crafts program focuses on developing ceramics, painting, and drawing skills. The school is named for the balance of the Sun and Moon, Light and Dark, Feminine and Masculine that creates and sustains all life.
Miami Capoeira Sol e Lua opened in 2009. The leadership team includes Mestra Índia (Owner / Coordinator / Instructor) and Contramestre Tubarão (Instructor), with mentorship from Mestre Acordeon, Mestre Rã, and Mestra Suelly. The mission of the Cultural Arts Center is to promote the personal growth of each student at their own pace, using a positive reinforcement approach and emphasizing support in its teaching tactics, describing every member as a link in the chain that makes the school a success and stating that it is a welcoming community that values teamwork, mutual encouragement, and thriving on one another’s successes. The program is a proud member of the UCA (United Capoeira Association).
Miami Capoeira Sol e Lua takes part in practices on the beach, performing at events, and participating in fundraisers, and states that it is proud to be part of the expanding cultural growth in Miami.
