The Lucy Project Literacy Programs include engaging literacy and education film screenings, intimate discussions, and inclusive community gatherings. The programs also offer an annual conference that hosts hundreds of educators and experts, as well as private lessons through Literacy Ladder Kids and after-school Structured Literacy sessions 2–3 times a week at select locations through R.O.A.R.S. After-school.

The Lucy Project Literacy Programs are part of The Lucy Project Inc, a privately run 501(c)(3) organization that offers programs for families and programs for educators. The organization states a mission to envision a Miami-Dade and a world where all students can access the resources they need to build a strong reading foundation, live choice-filled lives, and contribute to building a better world. Its work includes creating a scalable, replicable model of support with science-backed methods, providing access to evidence-based Structured Literacy remediation regardless of financial situation, and teaching educators about the Science of Reading through comprehensive professional development programs. Program components include the Literacy Hub, Unlocking Literacy annual conference, Reading Roadmap learning experiences for educators and parents at no cost, Literacy Ladder Kids private lessons, Literacy Ladder Pro for teachers, and R.O.A.R.S. After-school.

The Lucy Project Inc partners with public and private schools and community organizations and is funded for capacity-building by The Children’s Trust. Leadership and key team members include Founder & CEO Sandra Bermudez, Board Chair Jaqueline Gonzalez, Education Chair Dr. Aaron Kuntz, Finance Chair Jorge Borges, Treasurer Alex Soto, Secretary Monica Llerena, multiple directors, and staff such as Chief Operations & External Affairs Officer Rocio Velazquez, Director of Finance & Operations Erika García, Instructional Specialist Kristy Rios, Structured Literacy Specialist Erica Dewsbury, Education Programs Coordinator Brittney Pernell, Managing Director of Data & Analytics Alexandre Ramirez, Executive Assistant Jo Mejica, Outreach & Engagement Associate Arianna Hernandez, and Learning Specialists AnaMaria Gonzalez Muriel and Amanda Roy. Founding Board Member and Director Emeritus Dave Lawrence Jr. describes The Lucy Project as “a significant step” toward every child having the opportunity to fulfill his or her potential.
