Emerald Coast Theatre Company Educational Theatre Programs Teen Company offers advanced theatre education and mentorship that includes upper-level training in the art of theatre. Participants take part in personalized, hands-on, collaborative learning with production and product-based lessons, performing in multiple productions throughout the season. The program includes advanced training in performance and technical theater, ensemble team-building, and activities in public speaking, communication skills, and leadership skills.
• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: Teen Company runs from August 4th to February 28th, beginning with a mandatory week-long Summer Intensive (August 4th–8th), followed by weekly rehearsals on Saturdays from 1:00–4:00 pm.
• Price: Teen Company tuition: $1250, with additional costs for accommodations, meal and travel expenses for educational trips, performance fees, and guest entry fees for parents and family to attend the competition as audience members.
Students work on building audition repertoires and tech portfolios, college theatre program audition preparation, scholarship preparation, and professional theatre resume building. The program includes one-on-one audition and acting coaching, additional acting coaching plus vocal and dance support for Florida Theatre Conference (FTC) auditions, and individualized focused paths in performance or technical theatre. Participants engage in guidance, mentorship, and masterclasses with Emerald Coast Theatre Company professional staff and guest artists, and take part in Florida Theatre Conference performances, competitions, workshops, and masterclasses, with options for upperclassmen to audition for college theatre programs and scholarships there. Teen Company members also serve in community outreach ambassador activities for the ECTC EDU Department, have volunteer opportunities, and can earn community service hours toward college scholarship. The Company Director and leader for Teen Company is ECTC Director of Education Mr Heath (MC) Carroll.
