About
Emerald Coast Theatre Company Educational Theatre Programs offers advanced theatre education and mentorship with personalized, hands-on, collaborative learning. Students take part in production and product-based lessons, receive upper-level training in the art of theatre, and perform in multiple productions throughout the season. The program includes focused Advanced Training in Performance & Technical Theater, with options for individualized focused paths of interest in performance or technical theatre, and includes ensemble team-building, public speaking and communication skills, and leadership skills.
• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: Runs August 4th–February 28th, beginning with a mandatory week-long Summer Intensive August 4th–8th, followed by weekly Saturday rehearsals from 1:00–4:00 pm starting August 16th
• Price: Tuition: $1250
Students build audition repertoires and tech portfolios, including materials that can be used toward collegiate theatre program auditions and scholarships, and they can build professional theatre résumé credits. The program offers One-on-One Audition / Acting Coaching with ECTC Director of Education Mr Heath (MC) Carroll, additional acting coaching and vocal/dance support for Florida Theatre Conference (FTC) auditions, and guidance, mentorship, and masterclasses with ECTC professional staff and guest artists. Participants take part in Florida Theatre Conference performance and competition, Florida Theatre Conference workshops, and masterclasses, and upperclassmen have options to audition for college theatre programs and scholarships.
Students can serve as Community Outreach Ambassadors for the ECTC EDU Department and have opportunities for volunteer and community service hours toward college scholarships, along with the opportunity to build connections and immerse themselves in the culture and community of theatre students from the entire state of Florida. The program notes additional costs for accommodations, meals, and travel for educational trips, as well as performance fees and guest entry fees for parents and family to attend competitions as audience members.
