About

Pasco County Summer Day Camp includes weekly field trips and offers an EPIC inclusive summer camp designed for children of varying abilities. Counselor in Training (CIT) participants assist with camp activities as part of the Summer Day Camp Counselor in Training program for ages 13 to 17.

• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: 7-week camp from June 16 to August 1, 2025, Monday through Friday, with options for the first 4 weeks or the final 3 weeks, and no camp on July 4th
• Price: $20 additional for before and after care; camp prices range from $525–$1,050 for the summer depending on camp type, with EPIC Camp at $910 for the summer

Summer Day Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with before and after care from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traditional Summer Day Camp is for kids ages 5–12, Jay B. Starkey Nature Camp is for ages 7–12, and EPIC: Exceptional Play In Camp is for ages 8–17 with a 1:4 camper-to-counselor ratio, trained staff, and an Inclusive Support Leader on-site at each EPIC location. The program uses a lottery registration system with linked enrollment for families sharing a single lottery number and individual enrollment where each child receives a separate lottery number. The Summer Day Camp Resident Youth Scholarship Program offers 35% off the total price of camp for up to two children per family, is limited to two children per family per calendar year, does not apply to before and after care, and is not available to applicants receiving scholarships from other agencies, and scholarship funding does not guarantee a camp spot.

All Summer Day Camp participants must bring their own lunch and snack each day, and breakfast and lunch will only be provided by the school board at select locations to be determined. To participate, a child must be able to use the restroom independently, have completed kindergarten, be able to follow directions and perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance, and be comfortable in a 17:1 camper-to-counselor ratio. Summer Camp Counselors are selected and screened through interviews, background checks, and FDLE Criminal History reports, with candidates sought who have a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children, and they receive training in safety, discipline, recreation, sports, and behavior management.
