• Ages: 0–13 years old
O2B Kids was established in 1998, and the first 34,000 square-foot O2B Kids SuperCenter opened that year as an education “SuperCenter” combining a magical play village with an organized calendar of daily classes. The founders, Andy Sherrard and Danny Stevens, began their journey toward this vision after traveling around the world together in 1992. O2B Kids celebrated 25 years of business in August 2023.
The mission of O2B Kids is to help parents grow happy, successful kids, to open minds, improve self-confidence, develop social skills, strengthen bodies, help children discover hidden talents, promote a passion for discovery, encourage friendships, support learning of life lessons, encourage kids to try new things, and teach respect for people, property, and ideas.
Every O2B Kids location is nationally accredited or in the process of becoming nationally accredited. The program has received recognition such as The Gainesville Sun Best of Gainesville Best Child Care, multiple Our Town FAVES awards including Favorite Local Preschool, Favorite Local After School Program, and Favorite Local Day Care, and Orlando’s Playground Magazine Family Favorite awards for Best Preschool, Best Summer Camp, and Best Indoor Play Place. Additional honors include the Gator100 award for World’s Fastest Growing Gator Businesses (#21/100), the Tampa Bay Times Best of The Best for Best Preschool and Best Youth Education/Recreation, WEDU PBS Kids Be My Neighbor Day Block Party Most Spirited Booth, The Exchange Top 25 Preschool, and placement on the Inc. 5000 list, including O2B Early Education ranked No. 2019/5000 and being on the Inc. 5000 list for three years in a row.
O2B Kids runs the O2B a Kid Again fundraiser, a grown-ups’ day to play that includes live music, a large silent auction, a barbecue dinner, and games, and this event has raised over $500,000 for local public schools. The program also hosts Parent Night Fundraisers for local charities, schools, and civic organizations, with a portion of each child’s admission donated to the participating group. O2B Kids face-painters and balloon artists regularly appear at local festivals, school carnivals, art shows, and fundraising events. Employees participate in the United Way campaign, volunteer in local schools, and serve on boards of local non-profit organizations. Students raise and contribute money to charities such as local Humane Societies, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital, UNICEF, and the Red Cross, and they often organize canned food drives, book drives, and teddy bear collections.
Through the O2B Kids Founders’ Club Scholarships, more than $160,000 in scholarships have been awarded. The program describes its original concept as “learning through play” and notes that programs and facilities vary by location, with engaging educational experiences and other enriching activities offered across its schools.
