Soccer Shots is a children’s soccer program where kids take part in soccer, including age-appropriate soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. The program also includes competitive play and uses a themed setting called Soccer Island during sessions.
• Ages: 18 months–8 years old
Soccer Shots offers MINI (Toddler), CLASSIC (Preschool), and PREMIER (School-Age) program levels. The program uses a high-energy approach that introduces fundamental soccer principles such as using feet to control the ball, dribbling, and basic rules of the game. Sessions include songs, fun games, and positive reinforcement, and they focus on positive character traits such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate, aligns with early childhood education standards, and was created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, professional soccer players, and experienced and licensed soccer coaches.
Every Soccer Shots coach must complete a comprehensive training program to receive certification. All coaches are trained in the use of developmentally appropriate techniques, are routinely evaluated, and undergo ongoing training. Coaches are selected for their ability to coach soccer and to engage and inspire children. The organization proactively communicates cancellations due to weather or other circumstances.
Soccer Shots states its mission as aiming to positively impact children’s lives as the premier Children’s Soccer Experience. The program is positioned as a best-in-class children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg. Soccer Shots was formed in 1997, and in 2005 it began franchising and opened its first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The founding partners are Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, and Justin Bredeman joined as a third partner in May 2009.
Soccer Shots operates in over 300 territories across 43 states and 2 Canadian provinces. In 2023, there were over 560,000 enrollments in Soccer Shots programming. Soccer Shots is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S. Through partnerships with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Nike, and other organizations, Soccer Shots aims to impact children and communities across the U.S. and the world.
