About
St. Mary’s Preschool offers preschool classes with indoor and outdoor classroom time during the school year, along with an optional Summer Camp in June and July. The program includes options for 3-day preschool, 5-day preschool, and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) with additional care available before and after the core preschool hours.
• Ages: 2–5 years old
• Schedule: School operates August through May with class options between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and extended care available from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus an optional Summer Camp in June and July
• Price: Tuition is based annually and is divided into 10 equal payments (Aug–May); regular tuition and fees are charged even if absences occur.
St. Mary’s Preschool offers developmentally appropriate classes for children ages 2–5 years old and offers VPK in a specific format that includes a State Funded VPK program for Florida residents with children who are age 4 by September 1. Children who are 5 years old and have not submitted a VPK certificate previously may use it at St. Mary’s during their 5-year-old year. The preschool is an integral ministry of St. Mary of the Angels Episcopal Church and is described as a celebrated resource within its community.
St. Mary’s has been educating young children for more than 50 years in the Belle Isle area of Orlando. The preschool states that child-initiated and teacher-supported play are essential in its classrooms, and that its classrooms are carefully designed to reflect children’s interests and support positive self-image and independence. The program’s mission states that it encourages each child to discover the world through hands-on learning and open-ended play, and that it strives to instill a love of learning while integrating life lessons into the daily curriculum. The mission also states that, in an atmosphere of love and acceptance modeled by experienced educators, children develop self-esteem, confidence, and character development, and that the curriculum targets all areas of a child’s development and allows teachers to individualize lessons, supported by a low student-to-teacher ratio and family involvement.
The preschool states that each child learns in different ways, at a different pace, through different approaches, and at different ages of maturation, and that teaching life skills such as self-regulation, problem solving, conflict resolution, and character traits is a vital part of its curriculum. St. Mary’s Preschool is licensed by the State of Florida under license #C09OR0360 and is regularly inspected by the Florida Department of Children and Families, including a health and safety inspection, as well as by the Orange County Fire Department. The staff meets all licensing requirements, including level two background screenings and trainings.
