• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Price: $20 per student
Camp Connect gives students broad exposure to electrical, industrial, mechanical, civil, environmental, aerospace, and computer science engineering, and includes tips on how to prepare for a college degree. GLAMPing offers rising 6th and 7th grade students hands-on experiences in an engineering makerspace along with leadership lessons focused on STEM leadership. Summer Institutes are intensive programs for students interested in AI, robotics, entrepreneurship, computer science, and mathematics, and include hands-on, individualized instruction with instructors. Laser & Photonics Camp is for rising 10th–12th graders interested in physics or engineering and focuses on topics such as lasers, autonomous vehicles, video game displays, medical imaging, fiber optics, and the internet, with CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics, providing hands-on photonics experiences. The Health Leaders Summer Academy (HLSA) is an immersive educational summer experience for high school students in grades 10–12 who have a strong passion for allied health sciences or medicine, with a goal of supporting students, particularly those from low-income and first-generation in college families, in planning future educational goals and connecting with healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds and specialties. The program also presents information about health-centered education tracks and programs at UCF, and scholarships are available for families with financial need.
Born from the SECME program, MISSION: STEM aims to engage, educate, and inspire all students, and UCF is a sponsor and host for the MISSION: STEM Regional Competition. SECME was a strategic alliance that partnered schools, universities, industry, and government to renew and strengthen the professional capacity of K–12 educators, motivate and mentor students, and empower parents and communities so that young people could learn and achieve at higher levels. The College of Engineering and Computer Science at UCF has a long history of supporting pre-college STEM programs.
