This is the third Summer Camp offered, and Ormond Beach Historical Society exposure is growing.
The Ormond Beach Historical Society is the only private, nonprofit organization working to preserve and share the rich history of Ormond Beach. Its leadership includes President Jayne Fifer, 1st Vice President Stacy Simmons, 2nd Vice President Bobbi Coleman, Treasurer Rich Cooper, Secretary Bill Hoover, and Past President Mary Smith, along with a Board of Directors and emeritus members. Staff roles include an Executive Director and an Anderson-Price Superintendent.
The Ormond Beach Historical Society furthers its mission by offering tours, lectures, programs, displays, and publications detailing the history of Ormond Beach and Florida. It offers sponsorship opportunities for select companies and organizations that want to support this mission while gaining exposure for their brand. The organization also administers the Ormond Beach Welcome Center at the MacDonald House.
The Nathan Cobb Cottage, connected with the history the organization preserves, is a Florida Heritage Landmark and a rare 19th century survivor built in 1897 from salvaged cargo and wood parts from the shipwreck of the Nathan F. Cobb schooner. The Casements serves as the city’s cultural center, and the Anderson-Price Memorial Building is used for lectures and presentations, plays, and other social events and is available to rent for special occasions.
