Discover Day Camp includes activities such as swimming, waterslides, miniature golf, ping-pong, and ice skating. Leaders supervise campers at every activity and use academic games and activities throughout the day.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Weekly sessions June 1–July 31, with options to enroll for a week, a month, or the entire summer; the week of July 4 meets Monday–Thursday, June 29–July 2; extended care is offered until 5:30 p.m.
Discover Day Camp is associated with Youth Outreach Ministry, with camp directors, camp nurse, chapel speakers, and leaders who are students and staff from Pensacola Christian College and staff from Pensacola Christian Academy. Before camp begins, each staff member goes through training to prepare. A summer of exploration and discovery is offered for ages 6–12 and for 5-year-olds who have already completed K5, with activities appropriate to campers’ grade level, and some activities that target one or more STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills. For camper security, those picking up campers, including parents or legal guardians, must present a photo ID. Bible truths are taught to help lead youth to a knowledge of Christ, based on the belief that the Bible gives the best light for this life and the only hope for the life to come, and that no other book can so enrich the minds and hearts of young people like the Bible.
