Classes are divided by age and skill ability, with multi-week discounts and scholarships available.

Sail Camp and Adventure Camp each have a limit of 8 slots, while Keelboat Camp and Little Skippers Camp each have a limit of 6 slots, and waitlist registration is available when programs reach capacity. Summer camps are led by US Sailing Certified Sailing Instructors, and programs are led by US Sailing Certified Sailing Instructors. The SAYCSC Sail Director is Marissa Burrier.

The sailing program started in 2012, and since then the St. Augustine Yacht Club Sailing Center has offered on-water instruction to local youth and has reached over 3,600 local youth, averaging over 300 kids a year. The City of St. Augustine accepted the donation of the building site for the proposed St. Augustine Yacht Club Sailing Center in 2022, and SAYCSC held a Groundbreaking Ceremony on January 21, 2023. Construction of the new dock was completed and programs have been running off of it since June 2025.

The SAYC Sailing Center’s mission is to inspire a lifelong love of sailing by providing a safe, fun, and welcoming environment, and to empower youth to grow in confidence and develop valuable life skills through dynamic learn to sail options, competitive race teams, and community outreach partnerships. The center states that it is committed to making the sport of sailing accessible and inclusive for all and to fostering future leaders on the water and within the community. The SAYC Sailing Center engages in community outreach partnerships, offers scholarships, and states that no child should be denied access to their programs due to financial need. Core values listed by the program are kindness, community, responsibility, integrity, consistency, and fun.
