For more than 14 years, Pinellas Sheriff’s Police Athletic League Programs have been active with 11 total programs and thousands of participants. The programs include K–5th grade and 6th–12th grade summer programs, as well as after-school programs for both K–5th grade and 6th–12th grades, and an affordable boxing program. The mission of the program is to empower local youth in a safe and engaging environment where academics, sports, and the arts converge to foster growth, resilience, and confidence. The organization involves 100+ volunteers and is funded by sponsors and supported by donors and volunteers, with 10+ community events. It serves underserved youth in Lealman, which is recognized as Pinellas County’s most challenging and overlooked area, and has received 5-star reviews.
