About

CAMP IDS offers more than 100 half- and full-day camps each summer that include sports, academics, arts, recreation, STEAM, games, scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, fishing, canoeing, and activities where campers can aim for a bullseye or cook a multi-course meal. Campers can learn to play an instrument, paint a masterpiece, make their photos pop, sing and dance on stage, design video games and apps, battle robots, conduct experiments, and broadcast camp news. The program also includes sports camps where campers train, compete, and work on their skills, as well as camps that introduce young children to several sports and active games.

CAMP IDS is open to PreK3–8th grade campers from all over the Tampa Bay area and has offered summer camp activities to students in the region for more than 20 years. In 2025, CAMP IDS welcomed more than 1,300 students to its six weeks of camps. CAMP IDS 2026 will run from June 8–July 17.

Musical theatre is a popular activity at CAMP IDS, with productions such as Shrek Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., and Raise Your Voice for campers in grades 3–8, and 101 Dalmatians KIDS and Seussical KIDS for campers in grades 1–5. The Community School of the Arts kicks off the summer with a high school production.

Campers can bring lunches from home or purchase pre-ordered lunches from Warriors' Oasis Cafe, and they may bring cash to buy snacks or drinks from the cafe daily. Students in full-day camps that travel offsite need to bring lunch from home, and purchased lunches are only available to students attending camps that remain at Corbett Prep. Every child receives one complimentary camp T-shirt for the summer, with additional shirts available for purchase, and campers are encouraged to wear their CAMP IDS shirts on Fridays for Spirit Day. Campers are asked to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes such as sneakers, while flip flops and sandals are reserved for the weekend.

CAMP IDS is staffed by Corbett Prep's dynamic counselors. Corbett Prep is a private, independent elementary and middle school for PreK3–8th grade offering the International Baccalaureate Programme and states that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex, age, gender, or national origin and is an equal opportunity employer. Corbett Prep has offered the International Baccalaureate Programme for 18 years and has been a learning environment for students from all over Tampa Bay for more than half a century. CAMP IDS has provided summer camp activities to students in the Tampa Bay area for more than 20 years.

Corbett Prep states that it believes students deserve more than just knowledge and that they need the confidence and resilience to embrace new challenges, and that students need to be known and valued, supported and stretched in equal measure. Corbett Prep lists its values as joyful learning, respect for individuality, and a commitment to excellence.

Veteran teacher and educational leader Jennifer Jagdmann became Corbett Prep's new Head of School in July 2025, while previous Head of School Nick Rodriguez is now Head of School at Seabury Hall in Hawaii, and Jeff Shannon serves as president of the Board of Trustees.

One CAMP IDS counselor and Corbett Prep alumna, Liany Z., describes looking forward to returning each summer and mentions campers holding a cricket, creating art pieces, spending time with counselors, and learning when to step up and be a leader. Other Corbett Prep alumni and parents describe the school’s impact on their outlook, sense of community, and academic and social-emotional growth for students.
