About

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Summer Camp includes activities where campers can ride that horse, climb that wall, hit that target, and row your way to victory. Campers also take part in swimming and archery as part of the program.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Overnight camp sessions at Camp Wai Lani begin on Sundays in the summer with staggered afternoon check-in times by Girl Scout level, and end with Saturday morning pick-up times by level; day campers have daily drop-off between 8–9 a.m. and pick-up between 4:30–6 p.m.
• Price: Non-members have an additional $45 fee for camp which includes a Girl Scout membership through September 2026, with an option to pay $91 for an extended membership through September 2027.

The mission of Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Summer Camp follows the Girl Scouting mission that builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Girls entering grades 1–12 in fall 2026 can attend summer camp, and no prior Girl Scout experience is needed to attend. Camp sessions are focused on specific ages that align with Girl Scout program levels, and campers of similar ages are housed together and participate in activities designed for their age group. Younger campers have set schedules, while older campers have more flexibility. Campers may select one cabin mate who is attending the same session, and the selection must be mutual.

Accessibility accommodations can be provided for a range of physical, medical, developmental, dietary, behavioral, or communicative abilities, and many programs may be modified to meet specific needs. If a camper has physical restrictions or uses a wheelchair, crutches, braces, or similar assistive technology, families are asked to contact camp directors so they can plan the best possible experience. Campers must be able to function independently in a 6:1 girl-to-adult ratio.

Camp staff go through more than ten days of training, including CPR and First Aid, safety and risk management, emergency response, activity leadership and outdoor skills, and how to support campers' mental health, including homesickness and bullying. Staff who supervise specialized activities such as swimming and archery have additional training and qualifications. Camp staff are screened through in-depth interviews, multiple reference and background checks, and a drug screening. Camp staff salaries start at $600 per week, and meals and housing are provided for most staff positions.

The program is supported by adult volunteers and mentors in the local community, as well as millions of Girl Scout alums around the globe. CIT 1, CIT 2, and Camp Intern registrations are manual and require an application and interview, and the CIT program is aligned with the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Awards that Girl Scouts can earn and display on their uniform.
