About
Tampa Parks & Recreation Summer Camps include a traditional Recreate, Educate, and Create (R.E.C.) summer camp and a variety of specialty camps. Camp days include activities such as crafts, games, field trips, visual arts, theatre arts, sports, and aquatics. The camp theme is Recreation Nation, and all summer camp activities require a current Rec Card.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: R.E.C. Camp runs June 1 to August 7 as a 10-week full-day camp; specialty camps run from 3 days up to 1 week as half-day or full-day options
• Price: R.E.C. Camp is $80 per participant for the summer; most specialty camps are $100 per participant per week
Summer camp applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis during the registration periods, and applicants must register for summer camps separately, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis for all camps. Active Rec Cards are required for all enrollments, and teens 13 to 19 years of age qualify for a free Rec Card (Teen Pass), which cannot be acquired online and requires visiting a facility or calling the office. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify, and applicants must reside in the City of Tampa and provide two valid proofs of residency, proof of guardianship, and proof that the applicant receives assistance for each child; there are no automatic qualifications, and everyone must reapply with supporting documentation. The application window for financial assistance opens the first Monday of February (February 2, 2026). Ted Fowler serves as Director of Parks & Recreation.
