McMurray’s Family Taekwondo offers Taekwondo and other martial arts training that includes self-defense, stamina training, flexibility training, strength training, and endurance training. The program is run as a family-style Taekwondo school and offers a free week trial for new participants. Private lessons are available with Miss JoJo Gayler, and private lessons with Ms. Larissa Taylor are offered on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Chief Instructor Mr. Zackery McMurray is a Fourth Degree Black Belt, a Nationally Certified Instructor, and an Internationally Certified Personal Trainer. The leadership team includes Chief Instructor Mr. Zackery McMurray, 4th Degree Black Belt and Nationally Certified Instructor; Miss JoJo Gayler, 2nd Degree Black Belt Decided and Junior Certified Instructor; and Ms. Larissa Taylor, 1st Degree Black Belt Decided and Regionally Certified Instructor. Ms. Taylor holds a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics (2012) and a Master’s in Applied Mathematics (2015) from Colorado School of Mines.
Mr. McMurray enrolled in Taekwondo in Windsor, California, in 2007, became certified as an instructor in 2016, and began teaching at his instructor’s school. In February 2019, he opened his own school in Venice, Florida, and in May 2024 he completed his bachelor’s degree. In 2023, Ms. Taylor resumed training and joined McMurray’s Family Taekwondo, and in 2025 she became a First-Degree Black Belt and a Regionally Certified Instructor. The program states a goal of teaching quality martial arts, training the mind in the moral values of Taekwondo and the body in fitness and self-defense, with a focus on courtesy, respect, obedience, perseverance, courage, confidence, and humility. McMurray’s Family Taekwondo notes that it is proudly serving the Venice and Wellen Park area.
