Indian River County Aquatic Programs offers a range of activities including the 100 Mile Swim Club, a Baby Sitter Training course, a Junior Lifeguard Program, private and group swim lessons, and multiple swim class levels from Baby & Me through Stroke Refinement Level 5. The program also offers Aqua Fit classes, Water Safety Instructor and Basic Safety Instructor classes, and Lifeguard Certification Classes that include deep water and emergency oxygen certification. Water Safety Instructor and Basic Safety Instructor classes equip participants to teach American Red Cross Learn to Swim Programs, including water safety, and have prerequisite swim requirements that include specific distances for Front Crawl, Breaststroke, Elementary Breaststroke, Sidestroke, Back Crawl, Butterfly (for Water Safety Instructor), and treading and floating. Participants in Lifeguard Certification Classes earn American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including deep water and emergency oxygen, and scholarships are available for Water Safety Instructor, Basic Safety Instructor, and Lifeguard Certification Classes.
