Environmental Learning Center Youth Programs include activities such as Pontoon Boat Eco-Tours, Paddle Excursions & Rentals, Aquariums & Touch Tank, Student Programs, Ecological Field Trips, and Seasonal Day Camps. The program also offers Nature Art Exhibits, Walking & Fitness Trails, Signature Events, Wellness Activities, and the Nature Nook Gifts shop. Additional options include Pelican Island Pontoon Boat Tours (including a Sunset Pelican Island Pontoon Boat Tour), guided nature and bird walks, Wild Wednesdays – Unstructured Play for Homeschoolers, Unplug+Play, and fitness classes such as Pilates with Janice, Chair Yoga with Elise, Tai Chi and Balance with Chris, and Yoga with Annie, along with kayak and paddleboard rentals.

• Schedule: Campus open 8 AM – 5 PM Monday–Friday and 8 AM – 4 PM Saturday–Sunday for drop-in visitors; Touch Tank open 10 AM – 12 PM and 1 PM – 3 PM.

The mission of Environmental Learning Center Youth Programs is to educate, inspire and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being. The Environmental Learning Center was voted Best Tourist Destination on the Treasure Coast by Indian River Magazine. The Environmental Learning Center has launched a new Advisory Council made up of over 25 community leaders dedicated to advancing environmental education and stewardship in Indian River County. One visitor described a Pelican Island pontoon boat experience as “amazing,” noting hundreds of birds returning to nest, a pod of dolphins near the boat, and a captain and guide who pointed out wildlife along the trip.
