Pasco County Summer Day Camp
Wesley Chapel District Park, 7727 Boyette Rd, Wesley Chapel, FL 33545
About
Pasco County Summer Day Camp includes weekly field trips as part of the camp experience. All participants must bring their own lunch and snack each day, and breakfast and lunch will only be provided by the school board at select locations that are still to be determined.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: 7-week camp from June 16 – August 1, 2025, Monday–Friday, with options for the first 4 weeks or the final 3 weeks
• Price: $630 for the summer ($90 per week), with an additional $20 for before and after care
The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no camp on July 4th. Before and after care is available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekly field trips are included in the price of Summer Day Camp.
To participate, each child must be able to use the restroom independently, have completed kindergarten, be able to follow directions and perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance, and be comfortable in a 17:1 camper-to-counselor ratio. An EPIC program is available for children who would benefit from a lower camper-to-counselor ratio. Traditional Summer Day Camp is for kids ages 5–12, Jay B. Starkey Nature Camp is for ages 7–12, and the Summer Day Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) program is for ages 13–17.
The program uses a lottery registration system for the 7-week camp. Families may choose a Linked Enrollment option, where all family members share a single lottery number and, if selected, are offered enrollment at the same location, or an Individual Enrollment option, where each child receives a separate lottery number.
Summer Camp Counselors are selected and screened through interviews, background checks, and FDLE Criminal History reports. The program seeks individuals with a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children, and provides training in safety, discipline, recreation, sports, and behavior management.
The Summer Day Camp Resident Youth Scholarship Program offers 35% off the total price of camp for up to two children per family, with a limit of two children per family per calendar year. Before and after care is not eligible for scholarships, applicants receiving scholarships from other agencies are ineligible, scholarships are subject to fund availability, and scholarship funding does not guarantee a camp spot.
