About
Aerie Experiences includes activities such as therapeutic horseback riding, animal-assisted learning, and farm education. Participants work with horses, groom and care for them, ride them, and take part in trail walks, obstacle play, and easy-going exploration with the horses. The program also includes working on an animal farm by caring for a pig, goats, sheep, chickens, and bunny rabbits, as well as shooting bows, playing tag, holding a horse beauty contest, camping in the horse pasture, camping on Cabretta Island, exploring forested uplands, salt marshes, beaches and dune systems, scouting rapids, fishing, singing, swimming, and playing.

Aerie Experiences is led by Matthew D. Weneta, M.Ed., who is the Owner and Director. The programs focus on children, individuals, and families navigating Aspergers, High Functioning Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Neurobiological Disorders, and other special needs. Most of Aerie’s programs are designed for children, families, and individuals with special needs and are meant to instill a sense of fun, accomplishment, and confidence, to support learning social skills for neighborhood activities, to support discovering individual strengths, and to support meeting developmental milestones that can be translated to home, school, and social environments. The program has three expectations for participants: be safe, be honest, be present.
Aerie Experiences serves children and families from across the Southeast and the United States. The program is based just north of Atlanta, Georgia, with summer camp expeditions in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, Social Adventure groups at Chattahoochee River National Park, Teen Respite Weekends and Family Weekends in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, and a day camp program in Johns Creek, Georgia. Custom school groups, custom home school groups, and custom organizational group programs are described as appropriate for all types of groups, schools, businesses, and organizations.
