About
Emory Sports Fitness Camp is an all-sports program where campers take part in team sports, rock climbing, gymnastics, swimming, outdoor recreation, group fitness, and other aquatics activities. Many activities, including team sports, rock climbing, gymnastics, and swimming, are repeated from week to week, and campers are grouped by age. Weekly themes guide the creativity of activities while keeping the focus on sports and movement.

Activity areas in the afternoon vary based on weather and space availability, and early pick-ups must be communicated in advance with a note sent with the child if pick-up is needed before 4:00 PM. Experienced and highly trained camp staff supervise campers from drop-off until pick-up, and all activities are run by activity specialists who are described as highly experienced and well-trained teachers. The team of counselors and coaches includes teachers and undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in fields such as Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary and Physical Education, Child Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, and other child-related areas of study. Each program is run by directors who are described as seasoned and highly qualified, and the aquatics staff is made up of Red Cross certified lifeguards and instructors. The program’s stated mission is to engage, equip, and empower the Emory community for success through sport, health, and well-being, and the WPEC and SAAC facilities are described as ADA friendly. This camp is not held at the SAAC on Clairemont campus and is not affiliated with that program.
