About
Phinizy Center Education Programs include school field trips, homeschool science enrichment, toddler classes, summer camps, lifelong learning classes, and professional development for teachers. The programs use hands-on, science-based learning experiences with a focus on understanding water systems and the life that water sustains. Park programming has priority use of park spaces, and participants are recommended to bring binoculars, a camera, a hat, water, bug spray, and comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
• Schedule: The park is free and open to the public 365 days a year, roughly from dawn to dusk, with hours of 7AM–7PM from October through March and 7AM–8PM from April through September.
• Price: Phinizy Swamp Nature Park is free and open to the public 365 days a year.
Phinizy Center Education Programs are part of a non-profit whose mission is to provide leadership for sustainable watersheds and economic vitality through research, education, and by connecting people with nature. The education programs are described as award-winning and are connected to research on freshwater ecosystems in the southeastern United States, with an emphasis on the Savannah River Basin and on finding a balance between healthy river ecology and community needs. Photographers who profit from their work at the park must obtain an annual photography permit and follow all rules.
