About

Kids Next Code Academy offers hands-on programs where students work with cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, drone technology, coding, robotics, engineering, Python and JavaScript, 3D printing and engineering, graphic design, drone and aviation, and game design. The program includes options such as a Robotics & Engineering Program, an AI & Coding Program, a Youth AI, Cybersecurity, and Online Safety Program, and a Youth Tech Boot Camp focused on robotics, AI, and game design. Classes are available in both in-person and virtual formats, with small group classes and project-based learning where students build real working projects using both hardware and software.

Kids Next Code Academy Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that focuses on hands-on training in emerging technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, coding, drone technology, engineering, and robotics through immersive boot camps and certification-focused programs. Its mission is to empower youth, teens, and parents in underserved communities by enriching student learning with engaging, interactive lessons that enhance problem solving skills and prepare youth to be competitive in a tech driven society.

The organization was started in 2016 by Travis A. Reeves, who serves as Founder and Director. The leadership team includes Travis A. Reeves (Founder/Director), Don Griffin (Program Director), Vanessa Payero (Lead Tech Instructor), and Jason Sylvain (Program Director). Staff credentials include backgrounds in software engineering, information systems, technical management, engineering leadership, computer science and math, education, curriculum development, and experience with technologies such as HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript.

Kids Next Code Academy Inc. offers a comprehensive three-level, three-semester Cybersecurity & Tech Career Training program that includes mentorship, industry certifications such as CompTIA, Google IT, and Microsoft, and real-world internship opportunities, along with internship and apprenticeship opportunities in other programs. It provides free and affordable programs, customizable programs for schools and community organizations, semester or week-long programs and summer camps, and professional development training for parents and educators in areas such as AI, online safety and cybersecurity, coding, and engineering. For partner programs with schools and organizations, all equipment is provided, and equipment needs for other classes vary by course and are listed in each course description.

Through partnerships with local libraries and other community organizations, Kids Next Code Academy Inc. offers year-round digital literacy and tech upskilling workshops that are free and open to the community, serving youth, teens, and adults. In 2025, through partnerships with the Gladys Dennard South Fulton library and the East Point library branch, the organization delivered 57 hands-on workshops and 12 multi-week STEM programs, serving a total of 738 students. It offers partnership opportunities such as co-hosted workshops, volunteer opportunities, donated laptops and STEM kits, corporate sponsorships, grant-funded collaborations, and program partnerships with schools, libraries, parks and recreation departments, community centers, youth organizations, and corporate leaders.
