The camper to staff ratio is 7:1, not including program directors and professional staff who live on-site, and each site has at least one medical personnel such as a physician, physician’s assistant, paramedic, or registered nurse living on-site full time to administer medications and first aid. Any prescription medications that need to be administered must be packed out by parents as noted in the parent information handbook, and the infirmary is fully stocked with over-the-counter medications that campers might need. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta states that, reflecting its Judeo-Christian heritage, it is an association of volunteers, members, and staff, open to and serving all, with programs and services which build spirit, mind, and body, and it actively seeks to identify and involve those in need. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta also offers community outreach programs such as hunger relief, safety around water classes, and chronic disease support, and relies on partnerships with corporate, government, and community organizations.
