Ivy League Academy After School Program includes homework time, reading, snacks, art, and a range of extracurricular activities. Children have access to air hockey, a pool table, ping pong, foosball, board games, swimming, tennis, soccer, Playball, dance, ballet, gymnastics, and karate. All children from elementary schools are required to finish their homework before moving on to other activities, and children are not allowed to watch TV unless it is required for educational purposes.

• Schedule: Before-school care starting as early as 6:30AM with breakfast and activities until about 7:45AM, and after-school care from school dismissal in the afternoon until program closing at 6:30PM
Ivy League Academy After School Program is a structured program for pre-k and elementary school children, and children from pre-k and elementary schools are not combined and follow separate schedules and activities. Children are separated by age and classes are not combined. Extracurricular activities are organized into Klubs, including Otters Klub for swimming, Racquet Klub for tennis, Ball Klub for soccer and Playball, Ballet Klub for dance and ballet, Gym Klub for gymnastics, and Martial Klub for karate.
Ivy League Academy has well qualified staff dedicated to helping children with homework, and all center staff attend a minimum of 10 hours of training every year. More than 90% of staff are CPR trained, teachers are experienced and trained in early childhood education, the average Pre-K teacher experience is 6.5 years, the average lead teacher experience is in excess of 8.5 years, and the lead infant room teacher has been with the center for 15 years. Ivy League Academy is a private school headed by Ms. Hemal Subbarao, who holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
The program’s mission is to provide the best learning environment where each child can develop their individual unique strengths and excel in building a strong foundation for their future. Ivy League Academy has been in operation since 1990 and is a member of GCCA, NAEYC, Zoo Atlanta, and Fernbank Natural History Museum. The center actively supports nonprofit autism-related causes and www.missingkids.org.
Parents are invited to see the class in action at any time, and some classes advise parent participation. Parents are strongly advised to meet teachers and discuss curriculum and lesson plans, and parent/teacher conferences are held to discuss the child’s development. Parents are informed of center activities through newsletters and the website.
SAFE transportation is available for school-age children, with vans equipped with seat belts and wireless. The playground area is fenced with gates secured at all times, and staff-to-child ratios are met at all times and everywhere. Provisions exist for isolating a sick child, the license issued by the State Department is current and posted in the front lobby, and the center conducts regular fire drills, has posted evacuation plans, certified fire extinguishers, a fire sprinkler system, and 24x7 ADT fire monitoring. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are nutritionally balanced with all food groups, and an in-house kitchen provides hot lunches.
