About
Spectrum Autism Support Group Programs offers Summer Day Camp, Overnight Camps, Family Camp, a Summer Transition Academy, and an After-School Enrichment Program that includes activities such as arts and crafts, STEM, music and movement, recreation, sensory-friendly experiences, and life skills training. The program also runs Social Skills Groups, Respite Programs, Programs for Homeschoolers, Animation Club, Teen Saturday Social Club, a Saturday Social Club for adults on the spectrum, Autistic Adults Monthly Social Outings, and a Sibling Support Group. Families can take part in events such as Family Fishing Fun Day, Playball With The Gwinnett Stripers, Sensory & Harvest Gardens Tour, Sunday Fun Day, Family Swim Party, Family Bingo Night, Special Needs Screenings at Studio Movie Grill, Mahjongg, and Women on the SpectrumArtReach.

Spectrum Autism Support Group Programs includes Monthly Support Groups, a Neurodiverse Partners Virtual Support Group, Mocha Matters Virtual Support Group, Table Talk Jr. for teens ages 12–17, a Table Talk event for adults ages 18 and up, and a support group meeting for parents of adults with autism over the age of 18 who are out of high school. The mission of Spectrum Autism Support Group is to provide support, education and resources for individuals and families impacted by autism. Spectrum Autism Support Group was established in 1998, incorporated in 2000, and received non-profit status in 2002. The organization operated as a parent-run volunteer group with no paid staff or office up until July 1, 2016, and independent contractors now coordinate and staff camps, respite, and social skills programs. The leadership team includes Executive Director Claire Dees and 2026 Board Members Kathy Brust, April Coleman, Claire Dees, Maneika Corneille, Gereen Francis, Detrice Gilbert, Cherry Donald, Colleen McNeese, Steven Julian, Craig Pett, Lemetra Dismuke, Ariana Nelson, Christine Kramlich, Sandy Weaver, and Brittaney Johnson, and staff credentials include Julia McVicker MS, OTR/L, Driving Rehab Professional.
Spectrum Autism Support Group has partnered with Greater Goals ABA to provide free early developmental screenings and autism diagnostic access for children under 8 years old, with a focus on early identification, parent education, meaningful community support, and creating a faster path to intervention. Spectrum currently serves over 2000 families in Gwinnett County and the surrounding Metro Atlanta area, maintains a website with links to the group’s activities and other resources within the metropolitan area, and has a Facebook page with over 20,000 followers. Spectrum was able to benefit from the Sugarloaf Women’s Club Charity Giving in 2004 and states gratitude to generous supporters throughout their community and beyond. The programs support the autism community through many programs, events, and resources and are geared toward supporting the entire family, including social opportunities for individuals of all abilities on the autism spectrum.
