About
Tavani Soccer Camps offers Skills Camp, Elite Camp, Junior Camp, and the Coppa Tavani Tournament, with activities that include dribbling, passing, juggling, shooting, and small-sided 3v3 or 4v4 World Cup-style tournaments. Daily topics in the Skills Camp focus on dribbling on Monday, passing on Tuesday, juggling on Wednesday, shooting on Thursday, and tournaments on Wednesday and Friday. Players are assigned to a coach according to age and skill, and many of the coaches are former campers.
• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: Skills Camp, Elite Camp, Junior Camp, and Coppa Tavani Tournament run in June and July with morning start times; camp options range from 2 to 4.5 hours per day
• Price: Skills Camp: $220; Elite Camp: $325; Junior Camp: $150; Coppa Tavani Tournament: $50 per player
Skills Camp runs from 9am to 12pm, Elite Camp runs from 9am to 1:30pm and immediately follows Skills Camp with an extra 90 minutes in a more challenging environment, and Junior Camp runs from 9am to 11am as an introduction to basic soccer skills in a camp setting. The Coppa Tavani Tournament runs from 9am to 1:30pm as a small-sided 3v3 or 4v4 World Cup-style tournament for individuals and teams, and players can make their own teams or join an existing one. Parents are encouraged to attend and watch the Coppa Tavani Tournament, and participation in the tournament does not require attendance at the camps.
Tavani Soccer Camps has been family run since 2002 and is back for its 23rd summer, with soccer camps in Atlanta since 2002. The camp staff is an experienced mix of top club and high school coaches along with college players, led by Camp Director Gregg Tavani, who holds the USSF “A” license, the highest soccer license in the United States, and is a past Georgia Youth Soccer Association Coach of the Year. The mission of Tavani Soccer Camps states that the camps are designed to be both intense and fun, with experienced players challenged and beginner players introduced to the game. A concussion protocol is in place in which an athlete suspected of having a concussion takes a break, staff contacts a parent or guardian if symptoms continue, and an athlete with a confirmed concussion cannot continue without medical clearance.
Parental consent materials reference Tavani Soccer, Inc., the City of Duluth, and Seven Oaks in connection with camps conducted by these organizations. One parent testimonial reports that their boys love the camp, attend every summer, and that the coaches are “amazing” and the kids “learn so much.” Another testimonial states that a camper “can’t stop talking about what he learned” at soccer camp and that the parent signed him up for more weeks.
