Camp Kaleo Summer Camp and Retreat Center is a Christian wilderness camp where campers take part in activities such as basketball, disc golf, archery, volleyball, and staff-led recreation. The program also offers canoes, air rifles, a swimming pool, hiking trails, a low ropes course, bazooka ball, tree climbing, bridge jumping, a rope swing, and water sports.

Camp Kaleo Summer Camp and Retreat Center has a mission for everyone to KNOW Jesus, GROW in Jesus, and SHOW Jesus to the world. The leadership team includes Executive Director Hope Castillo and Property Manager Armando Castillo. Hope Castillo received a Bachelor's Degree in Outdoor Education from GCSU and a Camp Director Certification from the American Camp Association, and she served on staff from 2010–2014, first as a volunteer in 2010 and then full time from 2011–2014. Armando Castillo has experience managing a restaurant and working in general construction, hardscapes, pool construction, HVAC, and electrical and mechanical construction. Friends of Kaleo became the group that took over operations of Camp Kaleo in 2025, and Camp Kaleo is a member of associations referred to as “these Great Associations.” Camp Kaleo hosts camping events for the Georgia Royal Ambassadors program and makes the Retreat Center available throughout the year for church groups, including children, youth, college, and adults, as well as other groups such as churches, youth, and families that plan summer camp retreats at Kaleo.

Facilities at Camp Kaleo Summer Camp and Retreat Center include a lake, swimming pool, activity field, gymnasium, and trails through a hardwood forest, along with multiple meeting and lodging options. Lodging options include 156 beds in eight log cabins, 16 beds in a dormitory, main building guest rooms with 2 twin beds and 1 full bed in each room, a camp cottage with 2 rooms with a full bed and a fold-out sofa bed in the living room, 30 beds in Adirondack-style Daks, Unit 1 Cabins (1–4) holding 17 including beds in the loft, Unit 2 Cabins (5–8) holding 22 including the side staff room, overflow space in the Ark Gym Building with bunk bed sleeping for 16 and access to Ark bathrooms with showers, guest rooms (1–4) with 3 twin-size beds, their own bathrooms and a minifridge, and a cottage with two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, a bathroom, living room with sofa bed, and kitchen. Adirondack-style Daks have three walls with the fourth open to the woods and a nearby bathhouse, and tent camping is also available. Meeting spaces include the Dailey Center, Dining Hall, Missions Building, Administration Building Meeting Room, Gym, Mission Study Chapel Building, Ark Conference Room, Administration Building Conference Room, Dining Hall set up theatre style, Gymnasium set up theatre style, and an Outdoor Worship Center on the bank of the lake. Campers or guests in Unit 1 Cabins (1–4), Unit 2 Cabins (5–8), and Daks must bring bedding and towels, while guest rooms (1–4) and the cottage have bedding and towels furnished. The Camp Kaleo Retreat Center is used primarily as a summer camp in June and July and is also available for bookings throughout the year for church groups. The camp emphasizes a Christian wilderness camp atmosphere, a rustic wilderness environment, and values centered on Christian faith, including authenticity, growth, and adventure. A camp store and online camp store offer items such as water bottles, shirts, camp patches, bandanas, hats, cups, and more.

Parent and group testimonials describe repeated attendance and positive experiences at Camp Kaleo Summer Camp and Retreat Center. One parent states that Camp Kaleo is her son’s favorite camp and that he returns year after year, thanking staff for displaying a Christlike spirit. Another parent reports that this was their family’s second year at Kaleo and that their children are already looking forward to next summer, thanking staff and counselors for “pouring the love of Jesus” into their boys. A church group from Tabernacle Baptist Church in Vidalia, Georgia, reports that staff were helpful and available, the food was “great,” the campus was “fantastic,” and that the setting made it easy to concentrate on Christ, and they state that they plan to return.
