Camp Calvin includes camping, water recreation, and time to hike and explore the countryside. The program offers equestrian and horseback riding, including recreational horseback riding lessons, trail rides, and therapeutic horseback riding lessons. Campers also take part in team building sessions and therapeutic riding.

Calvin Center, originally named Camp Calvin, opened its property in 1960 for two weeks of summer camp. Its mission statement is “Sparking growth through enriching retreats and outdoor adventures.” Calvin Center is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and provides both adult and youth programming. It is recognized as a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Therapeutic Riding Program and offers AAHS, CHA, and PATH clinics, as well as therapeutic horseback riding lessons for those with developmental, physical, and learning disabilities. Calvin Center hosts more than 21,000 guests annually and has been recognized by major motion picture companies as a place to film. The organization’s tagline is “Space Apart for Changing Lives.” Counselors must have completed one year of college or be one year out of high school, and lifeguards must have completed high school. The center also offers summer employment opportunities for around 20 young women and men to serve on summer camp staff.
