Fortson 4-H Summer Camp offers a week of activities that include the Color Crew challenge in the QUEST for the Summit Stone, Quest Trials, a Variety Show, and games during Free Time such as basketball, 4-square, and gaga ball. Campers use the Zip Line and climb the Climbing Wall to ring the bell, spend Pool Time in a newly renovated pool, and take part in a Campfire, Ice Cream Social, and Field Trips. The program also provides Camper Email so families can send love from home, though campers do not have access to a computer to email back.

Enthusiastic and well-trained camp counselors, Cooperative Extension employees, and certified volunteers work together at Fortson 4-H Summer Camp. Georgia 4-H summer camps state that they provide an outdoor summer program unparalleled in the nation. Up to 1,200 campers attend Fortson, one of five separate 4-H camps in Georgia, for a week of experiences, and a Camp Promotional Video showcases many elements of Summer Camp at a Georgia 4-H Center. The program books county 4-H clubs rather than individual children for 4-H Summer Camp. The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, working cooperatively with Fort Valley State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the counties of Georgia, offers its educational programs, assistance, and materials to all people without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation or protected veteran status and is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action organization.
