Clayton County Parks and Recreation Youth Programs include events and activities such as the Get Fit Expo, Power Hour in the Park, Parents Night Out August Series, and Fundamentals of Volleyball. The programs also offer adult and youth fitness, health screenings, financial literacy sessions, fun, games, crafts and activities, and 2026 Lifeguard Certification Classes that require a 300-meter swim, 2 minutes of treading water without arms, and a timed 10-pound brick test.

The 2026 Lifeguard Certification Classes run in three-day series, and participants must attend all three days in a series to complete the certification. The Get Fit Expo focuses on health screenings, adult and youth fitness, and financial literacy. Power Hour in the Park is led by a fitness instructor and is free and open to all skill levels, and participants are asked to bring a mat and water. The mission of the Clayton County Parks and Recreation Department is to foster leisure activities, pursuits and experiences through a safe and well maintained park system and comprehensive and affordable recreation programs and facilities to the residents of Clayton County. Program leadership and staff include Program Coordinators Braylon Finch and Ben Howze, Fitness Instructor Alika Turner, Clayton County Parks & Recreation Director Nicole Horne, and DeAndre Burton as the contact for lifeguard classes. Community involvement activities include the Clayton County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting, a Community Park Clean Up & Trash Dump Recap, an Atlanta Science Festival at Reynolds Nature Preserve Recap, and a Pocket Parks Plan to provide health and wellness opportunities to Clayton residents.
