Troup County Parks and Recreation Youth Athletics offers a range of sports, including Flag Football, Girls Flag Football, Tackle Football, Soccer, Baseball, Co-Ed Basketball, Youth Coed Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and T-Ball. The program also includes an All-Adult Industrial/Open Basketball league. Flag Football is a noncompetitive, learn-to-play program, while Tackle Football is a competitive, team-building program, and several leagues focus on teaching fundamental skills and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork in specific sports.

• Schedule: Volleyball practices are held on Mondays or Tuesdays, and volleyball games are held on Thursdays.
Troup County Parks and Recreation Youth Athletics uses CivicRec recreation management and registration software. T-Ball is a league designed to teach the beginning fundamental skills of baseball in order to prepare young children for coach pitch, machine pitch, and fast pitch baseball. Youth Soccer is designed to teach the fundamental skills of soccer and to promote sportsmanship and teamwork, and Baseball and Softball leagues are designed to teach the fundamental skills of those sports and promote sportsmanship and teamwork. Volleyball and Cheerleading are designed to teach the fundamental skills of each activity and to teach and instill discipline. Girls Flag Football highlights traditional football skills of running, throwing, catching, and snapping without tackling. The Coed Basketball league provides children ages 4–13 the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball and promotes sportsmanship and team building, and the All-Adult Industrial/Open Basketball league provides men the opportunity to build friendships and stay physically active. Troup County Parks and Recreation has leagues for people of all ages.
The program’s mission is to provide quality and affordable recreational opportunities to all participants, with a focus on diversity and excellence in its programs through premium services and amenities to the public. Its stated goal is to promote creativity, competition, exercise, and a multitude of life experiences in a safe and secure environment that will enhance the lives of the citizens in the community. In 2018, Troup County Parks and Recreation was recognized by the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association as the Agency of the Year in the 50,001–80,000 population category. The department reports positive support from the Troup County Board of Commissioners, Mayor’s Office, LaGrange City Council, West Point City Council, Hogansville City Council, Recreation Commission, community volunteers, community-based organizations, foundations, neighboring municipalities, and corporate sponsors. The Parks & Recreation Director is Lance C. Dennis.
