Gwinnett Gymnastics Center offers preschool gymnastics classes, school age gymnastics classes, tumbling, and day camps, including holiday day camps and summer day camps. Children take part in tumbling and gymnastics skills in programs such as Totsie’s Jungle Gym, WOW Gymnastics, and Teams. The gym is described as colorful, clean, and well-equipped, with separate facilities for Pre-school, School Age, and Team activities, and each program has a separate facility geared to the needs of the age and skill level of the child.

Totsie’s Jungle Gym is for children ages 3 to 4 years old, WOW Gymnastics is for children ages 5 to 12 years old, and Teams are for children ages 5–18 years old who want to compete on team and obtain a scholarship to college or who just love to compete. A professional staff teaches tumbling and gymnastics skills to children from 3 years and up. Dan and Joyce Thaxton established Gwinnett Gymnastics Center in 1977 and have been in business since 1977. Dan Thaxton is the owner of Gwinnett Gymnastics Center, and Joyce Thaxton is also an owner of Gwinnett Gymnastics Center. Dan Thaxton earned a degree in Physical Education from the University of Georgia, where he was a four-year gymnast and a four-year member of the UGA Cheerleading squad. Joyce Thaxton was a Level 10 Judge for over 10 years and coached alongside Dan Thaxton during the 40+ years at Gwinnett Gymnastics Center. Dan and Joyce, along with the GGC WOW Staff, state that they offer a program that develops personal character, self-esteem, and physical fitness.

The Team program is proud of its more than 70 state champions, over 50 NCAA scholarship athletes, and 7 USA Level 10 Junior Olympic National Champions, and Gwinnett Gymnastics Center has won more than 70 team state championships since opening in 1977 under Dan’s leadership. Gwinnett Gymnastics Center has produced over 50 NCAA Scholarship Gymnasts, was the 2025 Super National Team Champions, and describes its program as one of the top programs in the United States. The organization states, “We are simply the best in the State of Georgia.” Dan Thaxton was inducted into the Region 8 Hall of Fame in 2009. Gwinnett Gymnastics Center is described as the children’s activity center that makes parents and kids say “WOW”!

Parent comments include: “my daughters first class was amazing. the coach ms angie was awesome with the girls and pretty funny in a way. my daughter loved it.” Another parent says, “I love Gwinnett Gymnastics Center. Dan is such an amazing coach and teaches you good values in Life on top of being a great gymnast.” A third comment says, “My whole family loves this place! They really know what they’re doing here. The coaches do a great job with all the kids and really pay attention to their skill levels and how they are progressing.”
