The Arts Center of Moultrie was transformed from the old Moultrie High School in 1987 and is described as a landmark facility that belongs to the National Register of Historic Places. It is described as Colquitt County's creative and cultural resource, acts as a steward of permanent collections, and maintains a facility that enriches Moultrie, Georgia and neighboring communities. Its mission describes providing engaging arts education for children and adults, making quality visual and performing arts available to a diverse population, and offering classes, workshops, exhibits, events, and more. The organization’s slogan is “Where Community Meets Creativity.”

The leadership team includes Executive Director Kelly Avery, Finance Director Jordan Durham, Curator Amber Moore, Education and Special Events Director Krysta Porteus, Marketing and Community Outreach Coordinator Marisa Day, Programs and Volunteer Coordinator Lennie Flowers, Welcome Desk staff member Kim Lovett, Kaleidoscope Instructor Kathy Nelson, and Facilities & Rentals Manager Kota Tillman. The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution honored The Arts Center with its Community Service Award in recognition of services offered to the community.

Community outreach programs take art education to schools and assisted living facilities, and The Arts Center is described as a thread of gold running through the fabric of this rural community and a pillar in the community. It is described as enriching Colquitt County and neighboring communities and providing services that a large percentage of citizens have enjoyed. The Kaleidoscope Museum is mentioned as perfect for parties and field trips. For youth dance, attire requirements include a black or pink leotard, pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes, and tan tap shoes, with Velcro preferred.
