BlazeSports Youth Programs offers activities including wheelchair basketball, rowing, archery, swimming, track and field, tennis, wheelchair tennis, shot put, long jump, and lacrosse. Rowing sessions take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and archery sessions are held on Tuesday mornings.

• Price: The membership fee for BlazeSports Youth Programs is $100 each year. The annual membership fee for BlazeSports Adult Programs is $50.

BlazeSports Youth Programs are part of BlazeSports America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed as the legacy organization of the 1996 Paralympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia. BlazeSports America has offered adaptive sports and recreation for nearly 30 years for children and adults with physical disabilities, including youth, adults, veterans, and military personnel with physical disabilities and PTSD. The organization’s mission is to change the lives of children and veterans with physical disabilities through adaptive sports and recreation and to empower individuals with physical disabilities through sport, physical activity, and inclusive opportunities that build confidence, foster independence, and inspire lifelong achievement.

BlazeSports America’s leadership and governance include staff and board members such as Executive Director Dawn Churi, Development Manager Daniel Degraffenreid, Marketing Manager Maggie Fintel, Veteran Program Coordinator Riley Millay, Program Coordinator Annalyn Smith, Youth Program Coordinator Emberley Robinson, Vocational Programs Manager Michelle Stegall, Chairman Andy McNeil, Esq., and members of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The Parent Advisory Board includes Kelli Munkel (Chair), Don Grimsley, Susan Fraser, and Mechelle Brown.

BlazeSports America is involved in community events such as the annual BlazeSports Big Peach Slam Jam Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, presented by the Atlanta Hawks and sanctioned by the WNBA. Other events include the fully inclusive Run, Roll & Row 5K with options for a traditional 5K or rowing, the Peachtree Paragames multi-sport event with archery, swim, and track and field plus free sports clinics, the bi-annual Triumph of the Human Spirit Awards and Gala, and Blaze Days in the Community that introduce participants to Paralympic sports such as wheelchair basketball, lacrosse, tennis, and archery. The youth membership fee allows participants to try an unlimited number of BlazeSports programs each year, and veteran membership is free and allows access to an unlimited number of BlazeSports America programs each year.
