About

Drake School of Irish Dance offers Irish dance for beginners and experienced dancers. The program includes beginner Irish dance lessons, workshops, competitions, and Irish Dance Troupe performances.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: One month of free beginner lessons on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 5–6 p.m.
• Price: $104 per night for a 1 King bed room or standard 2 Queen bed room at Home2 Suites by Hilton Atlanta – Norcross (if available; 1 Bedroom suites are at a higher rate).

Drake Irish Dance was founded in 1990 in Atlanta, GA by Dublin, Ireland native Karl Drake. The school has branched out across southern states and expanded into Mexico and China, and offers classes for both children and adults in a large number of locations, including Atlanta, Alpharetta, Marietta, Norcross, Auburn, Birmingham, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Spartanburg, Shanghai, Zhangjiagang City, and Mexico City. The leadership and teaching team includes Karl Drake, TCRG, ADCRG, Director; Deirdre O’Connor, TCRG; Mary Branick Ujda, TCRG; Lisa Cregan, TCRG, ADCRG; Amanda Tucker Poole, TCRG; Christina Deacy, TCRG; Maddie Hane, TCRG, ADCRG; Moira Fischman, TCRG; Catie Foley, TCRG; Fernanda Cajiga, TCRG; and Abigail McKeever, TCRG.

Drake Irish Dancers have competitive achievements that include Southern Region, NAIDC, and 2017 World Champions, as well as Regional and National Champions and World Medal holders. The Drake Irish Dance Troupe has performed at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre and Dulwich College Shanghai in March 2013 and at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing in March 2012. TV3 aired a two-part documentary called “Strictly Irish Dancing” in September 2011 featuring Karl Drake and his dancers, and Mexican-born dancer Jose Luis Mendoza and Irish Dance Master Karl Drake discussed the growing popularity of Irish dance on CNN.
