AFC Lightning is a youth soccer program that focuses on promoting a passion for the sport through comprehensive training and strong team spirit. The program offers youth soccer led by highly certified coaches and is intended for intermediate and advanced players in a competitive, challenging, and fun environment.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
Since 1984, AFC Lightning has provided a competitive, challenging, and fun environment for intermediate and advanced players. The program’s mission is to empower all young athletes to maximize and achieve their soccer goals and dreams, with a platform built on unity, respect, ambition, leadership, honest communication, integrity, and high ethical standards. AFC Lightning operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is committed to improving both its athletes and its community. It provides financial aid to qualifying families in all areas of the program, regardless of skill level or age, and 100% of donations go toward financial aid and community outreach programs, with all donations being tax deductible. The organization also partners with outreach programs to introduce new young athletes to soccer. Field status is automatically updated on the AFC Lightning website, and families can opt in to receive email and text alerts when a facility’s status changes. Josh Hughes is part of the leadership team.
