About

Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Programs follow the Girl Scout Promise and Law in everything participants do. The program includes reciting the Girl Scout Promise, which is often said at the start of a troop meeting or gathering. Participants take on new challenges, explore their strengths, and take part in activities that show them they can do anything, while being encouraged to be themselves regardless of background or ability.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

The mission of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Programs is stated as: “Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.” Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is a 501(c)(3) organization. The program is supported by adult volunteers and mentors in the local community, as well as millions of alums around the world. The organization states that Girl Scouts create the world they want to live in and strive to make it better every single day, including making friends, discovering their strengths, and exploring new possibilities.

The Girl Scout Promise used in the program is: “On my honor, I will try: To serve God* and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law,” with a note that members may substitute for the word “God” in accordance with their own spiritual beliefs. The Girl Scout Law used in the program is: “I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.” The organization’s materials are marked © 2016–2024 Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.
