JEA Camp Savannah includes service learning projects and a camp-wide Shabbat (Jewish Sabbath) Celebration. Every Friday morning, the camp gathers together for this camp-wide Shabbat Celebration, and a hot lunch is provided each Friday for campers. The camp describes itself as a diverse day camp that embraces Jewish values, with diverse specialty programs that teach universal values and encourage exploration of Jewish traditions while remaining culturally sensitive to others.

The camp is open to everyone entering grades K–10th grade and states that it focuses on social, emotional and intellectual development. The program’s stated focus values are Ruach (spirit), Open-mindedness, Chesed (kindness), Kehillah (community), and Sportsmanship, and these values are infused into everyday life at camp. The camp states that it gives campers the opportunity to establish their role in the community through a variety of service learning projects and describes itself as a place everyone belongs regardless of age, faith or background.

The mission statement for JEA Camp Savannah is: “We are a diverse day camp that embraces Jewish values to help build children’s confidence, create long-lasting friendships and develop a strong sense of community…one camper at a time.” For over 100 years, the JEA has dedicated itself to ensuring a strong and vibrant Jewish life and community for generations to come. The leadership team includes Camp Director DJ Horton, Assistant Director Jackie Laban, and Camp Registrar Sarah Docar.
