About
Legacy MMA Club offers training in karate, mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, self defense, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Kenpo Karate, and wrestling. The program also offers a summer camp, fitness kickboxing, before and after school karate, and personal training sessions tailored to individual schedules.

Legacy MMA Club states that its goal is to provide professional level training in a family friendly environment. The leadership team includes head instructor Dustin “The Villain” Chovanic, local fighter Ivey Mewborn, and Gabe Leatherman. Dustin Chovanic is a 6th degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, has State and National level titles in Karate, and fights professionally in both MMA and Muay Thai. He has trained over 30 State, National, and World Champions, has trained in martial arts since age 4, is a 6-time Florida State Champion and 3-time Georgia State Champion, represented the United States Karate Team from 1997–1999, was the 2000 National Karate Champion, and was ranked in the top 2 fighters in the world by NASKA. His background also includes fighting for the Pro Kickboxing Team NY Clash on the World Combat League, and he is described as providing mixed martial arts training from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to Muay Thai. Gabe Leatherman is a 2010 Western Carolina University graduate who has trained under Dustin Chovanic for seven years, with 4 years of high school wrestling, 6 years of kickboxing, and 6 years of MMA.
The facility is 5,500 square feet with state-of-the-art equipment and offers more than 25 classes each week. Legacy MMA Club offers kids before and after school karate with transportation to and from their school, and it offers a free trial lesson. The program is described as Gwinnett’s Best After School Transported Karate for kids and adults, MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, self defense, and kickboxing, and it has been voted Best of Gwinnett Karate & Mixed Martial Arts Studio. It is also described as Gwinnett’s premiere karate, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and transported after school facility, and families are invited to read its feature in Suwanee Magazine.
