About
I Beat A.L.L. Inc. offers educational programs, recreational activities, mentorship opportunities, and recreational sports programs. The program also hosts events such as a birthday basketball tournament, where children can play basketball and have space for food, cake, and running and playing.
I Beat A.L.L. Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth through education, recreation, and mentoring, with a focus on overall physical, mental, and spiritual health. The organization describes itself as “A Home for Sports, Arts, and Success.” It was formed by Coach Dwynell Mitchell and his wife Ketrina, who are described as an “unbeatable husband and wife team.” In August 2008, Coach Mitchell was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (A.L.L.), the non-profit organization was started in 2009, and it became a 501(c)(3) in 2010. Coach Mitchell suffered a relapse in July 2016 and passed away in 2018, and his legacy continues in the organization.
The leadership team includes Coach Dwynell Mitchell as the visionary of I Beat A.L.L. Inc., his wife Ketrina, and Board Members Sharonda Christopher, Janice Jones, ATTY. Maya Cleveland, William Young, and Katrice Clopton. Coach Dwynell Mitchell earned his degree from Valdosta State University. The organization offers youth in the community a positive outlet to explore through positive mentoring, education, enrichment programs, and recreational sports programs.
One parent shared that Ketrina and the IBALL staff were accommodating for a last-minute venue change for a son’s surprise 10th birthday party, and described the facility as clean and organized, with enough space for a birthday basketball tournament, a room to serve food and cake, and space for the boys to run and play. In this testimonial, the parent reported that the boys had a wonderful time and quoted the child as saying, “This is the best birthday party ever,” and thanked Ketrina and J.R. for allowing use of the facility and helping make the birthday memorable.
