About
Midway Kids Ministry includes worship, teaching, small groups, and a variety of fun activities. Children take part in a large group session where they sing, dance, and watch videos or skits that repeat each week’s Bible Story and each month’s Memory Verse. In Elementary, goldfish or cheez-its are offered as snacks during the second hour only.
• Ages: 6 weeks old through fifth grade
• Schedule: Sunday morning and Wednesday evening options
Midway Kids Ministry states that children from six weeks old through fifth grade can discover and develop a relationship with Jesus and that children are taught God’s Word and challenged to grow in their relationship with Him every week. The ministry offers childcare for Life Groups and Life Enhancement Classes on campus for children from 6 weeks through PreK, with specific groups for Birth to 17 Months, 18 Months–2 Years, and 3–5 Years. Each class is organized so that kids are in the same grade and gender, such as Kindergarten girls and Kindergarten boys. For Birth to 17 Months, children are kept engaged while parents attend one of the services, and for ages 18 Months–2 Years, children are taught God’s Word with fun, engaging lessons designed for this age. For ages 3–5 Years, children attend a large group session where they sing, dance, and watch videos or skits that repeat the weekly Bible Story and monthly Memory Verse.
Midway Elementary uses three core statements: “I need to make wise choices,” “I can trust God no matter what,” and “I should treat others the way I want to be treated.” Midway Kids Ministry is part of Midway Church, which states that it exists to unite all generations to go make disciples of Jesus. Midway Church is part of the Southern Baptist Convention and, through the Cooperative Program, helps support over 5,000 missionaries in 127 nations around the world. Leslie serves as the Connections Director.
