Backstage Dance Center

Backstage Dance Center offers Ballet/Tap Combo Classes, Acrobatics Classes, Jazz Classes, Contemporary Class, Ballet Classes, Hip Hop Classes, Lyrical Classes, Adult Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop Classes, and Musical Theatre. Ballet/Tap Combo Classes are offered for ages 3-4 and 5-8, Acrobatics Classes for ages 6-10 and 11+, Ballet Classes include Beginning Ballet for ages 9+ and Pointe for students at least 12 years old, and Musical Theatre is for ages 11+ on Tuesday from 6:00-6:45 PM.

Programs

• Ballet/Tap Combo Classes — 3-4 year old; Ages 5-8 · Once a week; 45 minutes for Ballet/Tap 3/4 yr old, 1 hour for Ballet/Tap 1
• Acrobatics Classes — Ages 6-10; Ages 11+ · Once a week; 1 hour
• Jazz Classes — Once a week; 1 hour
• Contemporary Class — Once a week; 1 hour
• Ballet Classes — Beginning Ballet (ages 9+); Ballet 2/3; Ballet 4/5; Teen Ballet; Pointe (students must be at least 12 years old) · Once a week; Ballet 4/5 is twice a week and 75 minutes; Pointe is twice a week and 45 minutes
• Hip Hop Classes — Ages 6-10; Ages 11-14; Ages 13+ · Once a week; 45 minutes to 1 hour
• Lyrical Classes — Ages 8+; Ages 10+; Age 12+; Age 14+ · Once a week; 45 minutes to 1 hour
• Adult Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop Classes — Adults 18+ · Once a week; 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes
• Musical Theatre — Ages 11+ · Tuesday 6:00-6:45 PM

About the provider

For over 30 years, the studio has created a welcoming, supportive environment. Eric Coffman founded the studio and passed away in 2008, and the studio remains his legacy to the Treasure Valley. Anne Sakolsky-Basquill has taught at Backstage since 1995. The leadership team also includes Emily Misner, Alexa Bouvier, Lisaun Whittingham, Lydia Sakolsky-Basquill, Ellie Sullivan, and Gabby Marquez. The staff is professionally trained and nationally ranked, and the credentials include Eric Coffman’s Ford Foundation Scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet, Lisaun Whittingham’s work with Holland America Line, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Tokyo Disney, and Lydia Sakolsky-Basquill’s award-winning choreography in competitions nationwide.

Classes start August 31st. Musical Theatre class is new. Classes subject to change until Sep 30. Company groups: Junior Company and The Company. Pointe students must be selected by the instructor and at least 12 years old. Ballet 4/5 students are expected to take two ballet classes a week. Adult Intermediate Tap is for adults ages 18+.
