Founded in 2000, The Ballet Box has been serving the Algonquin community for 23 years. The studio welcomes students from preschool through high school, including beginners of all ages and dancers training through advanced levels. The Ballet Box states that it is committed to delivering top-notch dance education in a positive, nurturing environment where students can grow as artists and develop life skills, leadership skills, self-discipline, respect, and creative thinking, while finding joy of movement and a lasting passion for the arts. The studio is described as more than just an ordinary dance studio and more like a second home, and it strives to create a positive dance community and a culture of interaction among families to build comfort, loyalty, and value. The Ballet Box is very specific about what kids wear, only allowing classy dance uniforms with no skin showing, and is very particular about the music chosen for children, playing only positive music in the studio. The Ballet Box serves families from Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Huntley, Cary, Carpentersville, Dundee, and other neighboring areas in McHenry, and notes that families stay because of its commitment to excellence and love for dancers.
