The Ballet Box offers Pre-Ballet Classes, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, and Poms for children and dancers ages 3 to 18. Classes include music, stories, dance props, partner and group dancing, barre work, adagios and allegros in the center, across-the-floor work, combinations, leaps, turns, balance, rhythm, detailed footwork, isolation movements, choreography, movement inspired by song lyrics, and synchronized movements with pom poms.
Programs
- Pre-Ballet Classes — Children · Playfully engaging foundational class using music, stories, dance props, and partner/group dancing to introduce ballet principles and develop social skills and self-esteem.
- Ballet — Focuses on strength, flexibility, balance, grace, proper technique, terminology, and correct alignment; includes barre work and adagios and allegros in the center.
- Pointe — For advanced ballet dancers; requires pointe shoes and must be taken in conjunction with an appropriate Ballet class.
- Jazz — Builds versatility with ballet foundation, across-the-floor work, combinations, leaps, turns, and balance.
- Tap — Develops rhythm, coordination, muscle control, detailed footwork, and articulation of sound.
- Hip Hop — Fun, upbeat classes with isolation movements, progressions, choreography, and child-appropriate music.
- Lyrical — Combines jazz and ballet technique with movement inspired by song lyrics to enhance performance abilities.
- Modern — Explores movement, space, rhythm, and creativity through jazz, ballet, hip hop, African, and other dance types.
- Poms — Introduces jazz technique with synchronized movements and pom poms, with routines and cheer/dance team preparation.

About the provider
The Ballet Box was founded in 2000 and has served the community for 23 years. Its mission statement says it provides exceptional dance education in a positive, nurturing environment.
Regular attendance is necessary to maintain steady progress. Poor attendance and tardiness can negatively affect training and the class. Dancers should be on time and should not leave early. If a class is cancelled due to weather, families are notified by email or a direct phone call from the teacher. Birthday parties and Girl Scout badge earn are mentioned.
