About
Garden of Prayer Youth Center – School-Age Programs (S.E.F.E. Afterschool Program & S.A.F.E. Summer Camp) offers tutoring, life skills, educational support, recreational support, and spiritual support. The programs also include fun and educational field trips, with participants going on these trips twice a week. Participants receive 3 meals each day.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: S.E.F.E. Afterschool Program offers tutoring and life skills before and after school, and Early Education Programs are available Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; S.A.F.E. Summer Camp runs for eight weeks during the summer.
The programs provide year-round structured educational, recreational, and clinical activities, following the organization’s mission to enhance personal development, dignity, pride, self-esteem, and self-worth. Garden of Prayer Youth Center’s leadership includes Michael Maloney, Executive Director/CEO, and Kristi McBride, Director of Administrative Operations. Kan-I Help, an initiative of the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley, connects residents with organizations such as Garden of Prayer Youth Center.
